Please Keep Trying (And Be Kind To Yourself)
First of all, if you are one of the people who responded to my last status update on DeviantArt, thank you very much for your support, and I'm sorry for not responding to your comments. I was in a very dark and panicked spot when I wrote that and, to those of you who asked, I assure you that, no, it was not a joke at the time. I regret writing and posting it, but you don't exactly make the most rational choices when you're in a state such as the one that I was in. In fact, you almost forget why you did it, or sometimes that you even did it, once you start feeling normal again. To some of you, that may seem overly dramatic and irresponsible, b
This is an updated version of my older journal "Copyright abuse". As my friend ~SauceGhost (https://www.deviantart.com/sauceghost) brought up some good points that I feel needs to be addressed.
First off, what is a style in the art community? An artist style is normally what an artist becomes known for using as their supposed trademark technique that identifies them as an individual among other artists.
What does the style consist of? The style of a visual artist normally consists of proportions, anatomy, composition, colours, textures, line, theme and shading.
Keep in mind that an art style is way more than just how you draw an eye. It's your art as a whole, not aspects o

Don't assume the worst in people.
People that like or draw gore are not bad people. Maybe slightly disturbed, sure. But hear me out on the reason why I personally do it.
Hello, my name is Ash and I like to draw gore. I have drawn gore even before I had a computer and even got my start on DA back in the day for drawing bloody "evil" pokemon.
Gore is a coping tool for me. Even if I'm in a good place these days I wasn't in the past. Bullied, lonely. special education, parents divorcing (multiple times) and dealing with other things really hard to grasps... like family members undergoing major surgeries and so on. Drawing gore possibly saved me from harming my self as I would n
Artblocks a blessing or a curse? by elsevilla, journal
Artblocks a blessing or a curse?
I had seen in many years, people getting worried of art blocks, many giving solutions how to over come them, hearing music, trying something else in technique, changing subject. Trying yoga, drinking red bulls, beers in my case. And many many stuff.
But those get rid of art blocks forever gone? You cant bet it not.
All people have artblocks, the talented people are the only ones to say that never ever ever happen to them. They dont know what an artblock is. They never had one in their all life career. I think thats a lie, we all had artblocks, but you got to get rid of them quickly, or you cant be a professional.
A professional dont have
Patreon is a growing website for artists to make extra cash from creating art in which their followers can buy, download and have the .PSD and sometimes videos of making the art for themselves.
It's a great idea in theory but there has also been a pretty noticeable backlash.
The first topic is whether or not you could even make money creating fan art of well known characters? Sakimi Chan is making a great deal of money doing mostly fanart creations and many have wondered how is this even legal? Isn't she making money off of a copyrighted character? There is a lot of gray area that is involved with this. The second topic is in regards to the
I knew KY was stupid... but I didn't know how stupid it could possibly get. Being the first fucking state to adopt the new policy that if you want Medicaid you have to work to have health care at all. (This does exclude children, adults over 60 and physically disabled people. )
And this new law would be kinda fine if it wasn't for the fact that not all parts of the state are wealthy with job Opportunites. Most places won't hire you unless you know someone on the inside (I know, I have looked. sadly i'm mostly a recluse so I don't know many people) Also, Ky is one of the few states that has a law in place called "At-will" Where you can leave
Because this is a hot topic right now, I thought I would share how I feel about it, so here I go.
Becuase, Steven Universe purposely decided to not use a size chart or focus on staying on-model for the style of their show. They have been deemed unprofessional and lazy. I did agree that it was "kinda Unprofessional" But I guess that isn't really the right word when it was the planed style from the beginning.
Rebecca didn't want to add any constraints for her artist because she wanted each individual's style to shine through on the screen. So for Steven Universe, they were not given a size chart and they have the ability to draw the character
People grow up, people change. If someone stops responding, Let them go. Don't try to force them to feel bad about something they just can't deal with emotionally.
I'm the type of person that forgives and forgets by distancing my self from the person that hurt me or tried to manipulate me. It hurts me more mentally trying to fake like something is fixed when I know it can never be repaired. I'm not a good actor when it comes to broken relationships and you're being toxic by trying to cling to someone that no longer wants you around.
You can see me as selfish if it helps you feel better, maybe I am. But I know my limits and they just can't t

I just received an e-mail from Virginia McEnerney, the executive Director of Alliance for Young Artists & Writers. She stated that all of Kasey Bowman's awards have been revoked. She also said that they never gave her the $10,000 scholarship or any monetary prizes (unlike what everyone has been telling me so I'm rather confused on the matter; perhaps there was some sort of misunderstanding?). Her plagiarized piece has been removed from the site and the award will be given to someone else.
McEnerney said that Kasey Bowman "acknowledged that she has made a mistake". I hav

Invader Zim theory confirmed!
In my ZADR journal, I made the argument that Zim is actually his Pak.
" Zim, is actually an Alien Robot/super Computer. He is his PAK, the Body Shell is just something to carry the PAK around, But the real Zim is actually a Robot. With One Goal. To take over the filthy Earth and show everyone how amazing he is! "
WELL in the comic it has been confirmed. So that means What Dib stated in 10 minutes to doom was actually Jhonen trying to hint at the Irken's biology.
I'm pretty happy about that! because its one of the cool design aspects that I love about Irkens.
Also, comic issue #25 was AMAZING!
